Summary:

This study involves research to determine the ability of seven test materials (tested in nine different configurations) to kill bacteria [Serratia marcescens (ATCC #14756)] on the skin of the hands

Study Qualifications:

• Must be between 18 and 65 years of age;
• Must have both hands and all 10 digits;
• Must have test sites in good condition;
• Must be in good general health;
• Cannot have known allergies or sensitivities to latex (natural rubber), alcohols (e.g., ethanol and isopropanol), sunscreens, deodorants, laundry detergents, cleansers, soaps, lotions, topical (skin) application of fragrances (e.g., perfumes, colognes, etc.), common antibacterial agents (particularly benzalkonium chloride and chlorhexidine gluconate), or topical antibiotic ointments (e.g., Neosporin® or Polysporin®);
• Cannot be receiving any antibiotic medications;
• Cannot be receiving steroids other than for contraception, hormone therapy, or menopausal purposes;
• Cannot have any prosthetic joints or hardware pins, screws, plates, rods, or dental implants in the body;
• Cannot have an Implanon®/Nexplanon® or any other dermal-implanted birth control device;
• Cannot be pregnant, plan to become pregnant, impregnant a sexual partner, or be nursing a child
• Cannot be a smoker or vaper
• Cannot have any asthma
• Cannot have hypertension or high blood pressure
• Cannot have traveled outside the state of Montana within the last two weeks;
