Summary:

This study involves research to evaluate the ability of two test materials (one leave-on and one rinse-off) and one control solution to reduce levels of infectious virus particles applied to the hands.

Both hands and forearms


Restrictions:

Restriction Date: 07/14/20 (7 days)

You will be provided a personal hygiene kit for your use during the 7 days prior to testing.

Do not expose test sites to strong detergents, solvents, or other irritants

Do not wear fabric softener-treated clothing or clothing that has been treated with antimicrobials.

Do not use biocide-treated pools or hot tubs, tanning beds, or sunbathe.

Do not shower, bathe, or swim 2 hours prior to testing

Study Qualifications:
  • Must be between the ages of 18 - 50;
  • Must be in good general health;
  • Must have hands and forearms free of tattoos, dermatoses, abrasions, cuts, lesions or other skin disosrders;
  • Must be able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment and not leave the laboratory for approximately 30 – 45 minutes;
  • Cannot have children under 2 years of age, or have the following relationship with someone known to have an immune disorder: spouse/partner/dependent person/child <2 years, any person who is bed ridden or works in a daycare, assisted care facility or performs preparation and food handling for public use for 1 week after participation;
  • Cannot have any immune disorders such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or atopic skin disorders;
  • Cannot have known allergies to vinyl, latex (rubber), alcohols, metals, tapes or adhesives, inks, sunscreens, deodorants, laundry detergents, topically applied fragrances, cleansers, topical antibiotics, colloidal silver, aloe and grapefruit, or to common antibacterial agents, particularly isoproponal, ethanol and bleach;
  • Cannot have required medical attention in the 30 days prior to consenting through the single test day;
  • Cannot be receiving systemic or topical antibiotic, immunosuppressive, or steroid medications (exceptions are for contraception, hormone therapy, or post-menopausal indications;
  • Cannot have any prosthetic device in the neck or spine, or prosthetic joints anywhere in the body;
  • Cannot have a history of smoking or vaping in the last 2 years;
